“Homeschooling is so overwhelming! I don’t know where to start.”
“My child just won’t cooperate. I feel like we don’t get anything done.”
“I can’t teach math!”
“What if I’m ruining their future?”
“I just don’t think this is working. They’re going to have to go back to school.”
“I don’t know who to turn to for help. We need a community.”
Sound like something you’ve said? Or thought?
Oh, friend, I feel ya. I really, truly do. I put those questions and statements at the top of this page because every single one came from my journal. Every one. And most make more than one appearance.
This homeschooling thing isn’t easy.
As they say, if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. Right?
Sometimes that’s even THE hardest thing about this: not everyone is doing it. You’ve chosen the road less traveled, and no one should walk that road alone.
I have a passion for walking alongside homeschoolers to take them from overwhelmed to empowered.
YOU can do this. If you found this page, then you’re out there looking for information, looking for inspiration.
Here is your first bit of encouragement: you have a question or a problem and you’re here looking for answers. Isn’t that what we want our kids to grow up to be able to do? Knowing names and dates, and solving the math problems is all well and good, but as they journey out into the world, we want them to be able to identify a question, look for an answer, and evaluate that answer. That’s what you’re doing here. And since kids do what they see (not what they hear – we know that all too well! ha!), then you are teaching them how to do this.
BAM. You’re homeschooling, and you’re pretty good at it.
But that probably wasn’t exactly your question, was it? Ok, ok. Well, I would really like to hear what that question is, and I can help you clear a path to the answer. Let’s be companions on this journey, shall we?
Following the law
Tackling high school
Embracing a more free homeschool
… and so much more!
I will meet you wherever you are on this journey and help you over the hurdle ahead. And I won’t abandon you after that. There are many options for continued connection and support, but (again with the clichés) the journey begins with a single step.
