Family Activity Centers
The Triangle Homeschool Resource Center wishes to invite families with children from 18 months of age to 5 years old to join us for curated activity centers.
Do you see all of those great ideas on social media for busy boxes, sensory tubs, and learning activities? We know that, as Moms, it’s hard to find the time and money… and energy!… to keep new learning opportunities in front of our kids!
Let us set them up for you!
How do activity center Times work?
Our staff will curate 6 to 8 activity centers for you and your children to interact with during your session. We provide any instructions needed and give you the time and space to allow your child to explore at their own level.
2-hour blocks will be designated for families to use the Centers. Most days, your child will remain engaged for 45 to 75 minutes. Time slots are open every 15 minutes, and a maximum of 2 families can sign up for each slot.
What kinds of activity centers are provided?
We will try to theme the centers to keep things changing and interesting for your family.
Some examples are:
– Letter tracing with toy cars
– Color sorting with plastic bears
– Alphabet hunt and match in a sensory bin
– Sticky wall collages
– Shape mats
– Story collections
Fun
Our first week's theme is bugs! Your child can enjoy sorting bugs by color onto paper jars, counting a ladybug's spots, hunting for pictures and ordering the life cycle of a butterfly, measuring a grasshoppers' jump with unit cubes, and more!
Community
Whether you're preparing for a future of homeschooling or kindergarten readiness, you can find other families interested in nurturing their children's curiosity. And the kids make friends, too!
Learning
Our activity centers will touch on a variety of concepts that will allow children to play with ideas. While they might not yet comprehend things like addition and CVC words, repeated exposure through play will help make positive emotional and intellectual connections.
